i'm on a mission.

"The Nanny Diaries" is one of my favorite books, and also one of my favorite movies.
and i am now on a mission to become "Nanny."
obviously, i'd like to skip the whole working-for-an-awful-woman bit.
oh, and the creepy-dad-that-hits-on-me piece.
but other than that, this is the job i'm looking for.
my school schedule allows for it perfectly...
i'm just not sure how to go about getting a job like this.
so if you have any tips...do share!

  1. a lot of my friends were (and are still) working as nannies through college. I think they went through an agency as there is one in our city. I would say to start looking for a reputable agency. Thanks for your sweet comment!

  2. Being a nanny can be very rewarding if you're with the right family. I'd take some time to find a family that is a good fit. Most families want their nanny to stay with them for at least a year, but who knows. I'd say go for it!

    I also love this movie!

  3. there is a website (www.nannies4hire.com) where you can upload a resume/profile and look for families in your area that are looking for nannies. I did this and got an interview and got called back to watch the kids! However, that one time was too much because the toddler would not take his nap and just screamed for three hours. The older boy was good, and there was also a 6 week old that I carried around in a pouch. At one point, I literally said "If you have nanny cameras and are watching me, please come home!" They didn't, but I didn't get a call back--haha!

I hope you find a really sweet family!!

  6. I have an aunt and a cousin who are nannies, and they absolutely love it.

I also LOVE the book, and I've read it three times!
