keeping busy.

Recently I picked up quite a few more books and some flash cards to keep Tatum and I a bit more busy throughout the day. It's made for a nice little change. She couldn't care less about the French flash cards (unless she's chewing on them), but that's okay. FOR NOW. <-------Kidding.

She loves reading her books together, as do I.
And she really loves her flash card flip book. It was free with our order, so I figured, why not? It's pretty neat, and a major plus to it is that it has laminated pages. So, T can bite, chew, drool on them all the live long day. She's happy, I'm happy.

I really love all of the books we purchased except for "I Kissed the Baby."
It's just...not my scene. My friend Bridgette told me she felt the same way, but did point out that the pictures are at least good for babies (b + w, with pops of color). Silver lining!
My favorite of the books is probably "Happy Hippo, Angry Duck." I do some really cool voices with it, so it's fairly entertaining if I do say so myself.

I think I'm going to pick up some child style musical instruments soon, too. Just for fun!

Parents, what sorts of activities do you like to do with your babies?
Any book recommendations?

thrifted children's books.

The one thing that I always search for when I go thrifting is children's books. I've found so many great
books for Tatum this way! (That's actually where the majority of her books have come from.) It's usually pretty hard to find (for me, at least) newer books, but I don't really mind, because I really love the artwork in most older / vintage children's books.

Since I'm unfamiliar with most of the titles that I see, my method of choosing goes a little something like this: "Oh, that book cover looks cute!"
Yep. All there is to it.

So far, I've liked all of the books we've found. I really hope that when Tatum is a bit older and understands more that she will love them and reading in general, just like her dear ol' mom.
I've always been a reader, ever since I was a little girl, so I'm crossing my fingers that she will love it too.

What's something you always search for, every thrifting trip?
Are you a reader? Are your children readers?

tatum ♡'s eloise (or not).

Some of my favorite children's stories are the "Eloise" book series. They're fun and cute for both children + grown-ups, which I think is nice.

A couple of nights ago I sat down with Tatum in her rocker and we read the first book in the series, titled "Eloise", together.

I guess it's still a little over her head...
