i want to go to there.
Um, can I please live here?
One day after we went out to lunch, we were walking back to the apartment and we passed this B-E-A-utiful place above Fresh. 2 floors + rooftop (I'm guessing?). Whatever. It's hard to tell in the picture, but it was so neat! And is basically a dream living space.
It reminds me of the apartment in the movie "Big."
Too bad I don't just have piles of money lying around! Oh well. : )

H O M E.
Yesterday morning Josh and I got up bright and early and drove four hours to Springfield, MO.
We were going to find a place to call home and nothing was going to stop us.
And nothing did! Thank goodness.
We went to the first place on our list and we were signing a lease and moving in 10 minutes later.
We'd been looking at these particular apartments online for a few days, so we were very excited to get one.
It was so simple, and we're super happy with our first home!
We got a lot done last night, as far as unpacking goes.
Now we're just waiting for Josh's parents to get here with some of our furniture.
(Last night was the most uncomfortable ever.)
We have to make a trip back in about a week to get the rest of our stuff, too.
It's already starting to look/feel like home, though!
I can't wait to get started decorating and making it look all cute.
I'll share pictures when we're more settled and it looks a little homier.
For now, here's a little peek:
I love it!
Springfield is such a cute little area.
I don't know what it is about it, but it just gives me real good vibes.
I think we're going to be really happy here!
:)
xo.
P.S. I'm currently at 72 followers! EXCITING.
When I reach 100 I'm going to do my first giveaway!
And it's going to be a really neat one.
Yay!

JINX.
So, I'm beginning to think that by blogging about where Josh and I have officially decided to live has been a jinx for us.
Every single time I blog about it, something falls through or we decide it's not the best decision.
EXAMPLES:
1.) Way back when, Josh and I were going to move to the Memphis area.
I blogged about it.
Our friend/future roommate changed his mind.
(Thank goodness.)
2.) We were going to move to Springfield.
I blogged about it.
I don't remember why, but we ended up deciding not to move there.
3.) After visiting Las Vegas for 2 weeks we decided to move there.
I blogged about it.
A couple of weeks later I got cold feet and was too scared to move so far away.
4.) We decided to stay closer to home for awhile and move to Cape Girardeau.
I blogged about it.
We went apartment hunting a couple of days.
And it seems each place we found was just totally against us.
No pets allowed, or the prices were outrageous.
So, we discussed it and came down to two options of places we'd like to move.
We decided on one and now we'll be going tomorrow to look at apartments and HOPEFULLY move into a place.
But I obviously can't tell you where until we're actually calling it home!
So be ready tomorrow for an announcement. :)
(Let's hope it's a good one.)

Day 1: The Results.
This morning Josh and I got up bright and early, grabbed some breakfast, and headed over to Cape.
First of all we stopped and picked up a paper, the Southeast Missourian.
I grabbed a pen, prepared to circle anything that sounded interesting.
There were many, many apartment/home rentals listed in the classifieds.
Sadly, the bulk of them contained the two dreaded words...
"NO PETS."
And those that didn't, we were informed upon phone calls, didn't allow pets, either.
There were three places we couldn't get ahold of, but the addresses were in the classifieds so we explored and found them and then threw up everywhere.
We didn't really.
But they were so horrible.
That sounds mean, but at one point, Josh was like, "Okay, this one should be the third house down."
And I got so excited because I counted three "houses" down and saw this adorable little yellow place.
Sadly, the building that I skipped over, thinking it merely a shed, was actually the third house down.
So that's basically what our day was like.
We did find one place.
It's beautiful.
I was totally in love with it.
And they allow pets!
The only problem?
The rent was $900 a month.
I'll be honest, that's not exactly in our budget.
Josh said that we could make it happen, but it would be a stretch probably.
So basically we can get that one, but we'll need a roommate.
And I can't believe it, but I'm actually considering it!
It's either a roommate, or get rid of Swarley.
Well, that's how it feels right now.
And right now the roommate thing doesn't sound so bad.
I can't really handle the idea of getting rid of Swarls...
:(
So we're going back in a couple of days to try our luck again.
If you could, I'd really, really love it if you guys could keep us in your thoughts, prayers, or send us some well wishes.
It'd mean the world to me!
xo.

House Hunting, Take Two.
Tomorrow Josh and I will embark on our second house hunting adventure.
Our first one ended well, with an apartment we both definitely loved.
The only problem was that this girl just wasn't ready for such a big move, to a place she wasn't so sure how she felt about.
The first time was pretty easy.
We only had to look at a few places before we'd found "the one."
I'm kind of hoping this search will yield the same results.
This time around I'm really interested in, and crossing my fingers for, finding an actual house to rent, rather than an apartment.
If we don't, that's totally fine.
I just want to find a place that we can, without a doubt, call home.
I'm really excited.
xo.
