Lyds Bakes: COOL WHIP + Cobbler.


For as long as I can remember, my Grandma has been baking this amazing cobbler that she likes to call "Crazy Cobbler." It's my all time favorite dessert! Peach, blueberry, blackberry, you name it--I love it. One of my favorite things about this dessert is the addition of COOL WHIP Whipped Topping; without it, the cobbler would just be incomplete! Seriously, so good!

This week, Josh, Tatum, and I are back in our hometown, visiting family and friends for the Easter holiday. When we got to my family's house yesterday afternoon I decided that I wanted to bake my Grandma's "Crazy Cobbler" for the very first time, as a treat for everyone. (I was a little nervous, because hey, that stuff is hard to live up to!)

I went to work making the dessert, trying my hardest to get it just like Grandma's. After about 10 minutes, it was ready for the oven...45 minutes after that, it was ready to be eaten!


 Everyone had a bowl of blueberry cobbler, with a scoop of COOL WHIP Whipped Topping (don't forget it!) and a few fresh berries on top of it. (192)


Some of us even had a spoonful of COOL WHIP all by itself...Yum!

As I mentioned earlier, this dessert takes only about an hour to make. That's all! This makes it the perfect treat for those times you're in a pinch and need something quick. Just another reason to add to the list of why I love it so much!

After making sure that there are no "secret ingredients" present in this recipe, I confirmed that I could share it with the world. So, thanks to my Grandma, here ya go:

Grandma Shirley's Crazy Cobbler

1 stick of butter
2 cups of Bisquick
2 cups of sugar
1.5 cups of milk
2 packages of frozen fruit (any kind!)
1 cup of water
1.5 tablespoons of cornstarch

Melt the butter in the baking dish (8x11). Blend the Bisquick, sugar, and milk together in a bowl. Pour this mixture over the melted butter in the baking dish. Set aside. Take the frozen fruit, rinse it off, and put in saucepan. Mix the water and cornstarch together. Add this mixture to the fruit in the saucepan. Heat fruit to boiling, allowing it to thicken up. (Consistency will be like pie filling.)
Pour fruit into baking dish.
Mix it up a bit to evenly disperse the fruit.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Serve with COOL WHIP Whipped Topping and Eat!
