2012: Goals, Resolutions.

{family photo}

I'm really excited for 2012. I just have a really good feeling about this year and can't wait to see what it will bring to my new little family!

While I do think that every day is an opportunity to start fresh, there's just something about the feeling of the "New Year." And with how last year was, with being pregnant and then having a baby at the end of the year...waiting until the New Year to make some of these changes (resolutions) just seemed like the fun thing to do. And the others, well, at the beginning just seemed like the right place to start.

2012 Goals

1.) Weight. I actually made this same resolution last year. (Although, I think I've tacked on a few more lbs. this time around!) But then a month into it, and a few lbs. down, I found out I was pregnant with Tatum. So there went that goal! But I'm back at it this year. And I know everyone says this kind of stuff--but I really think I can do this. The goal is to lose about 60 lbs. I'm thinking about doing weekly-ish updates on progress. I guess you'll just have to wait and see. : )

2.) Blogging. Last year, I pretty much put blogging on the back burner. I want to completely change that this year. I really enjoy blogging and all of the great ladies I've met through doing so. I want to make sure to continue blogging from a place of fun and not obligation, though. I want to try to blog at least five times a week, keeping better documentation of our family life.

3.) Wife/Mom. I basically just want to be the best wife and mom I can be. Note: I was obviously striving for this prior to 2012, as well. : )

4.) Painting. I want to get back into painting. I really love it and miss it. I think I only made four pieces last year that I was actually happy with. LAME. This year, I want to paint one piece per week.

5.) Store. I plan to FINALLY open up my vintage/art business. By February!

6.) Reading. The goal is to read at least 50 books in 2012. Pretty sure I can do it! I already have 1.5 complete.

Yeah! So, that's that. Did you post about your goals/resolutions? Leave a link in the comments! I'd love to read yours.

  1. Number one is the best goal post-baby. I gained 50 pounds with my son and was able to lose it all plus some in about 5 months. Please keep us posted with your progress!

    Love your list btw. I'm excited to see your store and your paintings!

    And your reading goal is so ambitious! I set a goal of 24 each year and rarely reach 20.. but I try!

  2. Great goals!!
    I think updating your weight loss progress on your blog is an excellent idea; you'll inspire others as well as stay motivated.
    2012 is sure to be an awesome year!

  3. I have to agree on posting about your weight loss journey - it is a great way to stay motivated and to motivate others. I was thinking of doing the same thing to stay accountable!

I love reading your comments. They absolutely make my day. :) And I'll always respond back to you in the comments section. So if you'd like, stop back by for a reply! :)
