Hair Change.

I have been super bored with my hair lately. I've been dying for some sort of a change, but haven't been  exactly sure what to do with it. I know I don't want to cut it. I've been thinking about coloring/lightening it, but don't know if that's a good idea right now. (Not for safety reasons, more like "will i keep up with this after the baby is here at first?" reasons.) So, I felt pretty stuck on what to do.

Last night, I bought the new Nylon "It Girl" issue, featuring Elizabeth Olsen as the cover girl. Reading her article + seeing the pretty pictures of her, I just kept thinking how MUCH I loved her hair.

I've been hesitant to try a middle part or grow my bangs out, because I just didn't think I would be a fan of it for myself. The last time I had no bangs was when I was in junior high + let's just say I wasn't quite the "cutie" I am now. (Please detect the sarcasm.)
But after pretty much lusting over Elizabeth Olsen's hair for like, hours, I decided to use her as inspiration and give it a try on myself today.

I was super happy with the results! I actually think I'll probably start wearing my hair like this more often than not. I added the waves to my hair with a flat iron + used a sea salt spray to give it a bit of texture. Fun! I'm happy with the change! And I also love that it's totally reversible. (Not that I plan on going back any time soon!)

P.S. I'm totally loving EO right now. She is so lovely + I can't wait to see her new film "Martha Marcy May Marlene." Is anyone else planning to see it?

  1. i love it! i'm terrified to have a middle part as well. i don't want it to come off as a 'butt cut.'

  3. Years ago (like, when I was a teen...)I read in a fashion magazine that if you have a big nose you should not part your hair in the middle, so what I (wrongly) took from that was "If I part my hair in the middle it will make my nose look big." So, I have always been "afraid" of the middle part...YOU have totally pulled off that look--I LOVE it on you! Gorgeous!
